Part of our school playing field has not been mown for the last month and so the Environment Club took the opportunity to try and identify as many different plants as possible on the field using the iNaturalist Seek app. Here are some of the plants we managed to identify:

  • common or lawn daisy
  • Yorkshire Fog grass
  • Orchard grass
  • Bristly Oxtongue
  • Cut-leaved Crane’s-bill
  • Meadow Salsify
  • Buttercup
  • White Clover
  • Common Spikerush
  • Welsh poppy
  • Bull Thistle
  • Ragwort
  • Mouse-eared Chickweed

We also spotted:

  • Green Longhorn Moth
  • Bees
  • Ants
