As we approach the winter solstice, the amount of daylight we have each day gets less and we rely more on artificial lights to light our home. LED light bulbs use around 80% less energy than a conventional light bulb, and can save you around £4-6 per bulb per year as well as reducing your carbon footprint. LED light bulbs also usually last longer than conventional bulbs saving further money.

At school, we have replaced our lights with low energy and LED lighting and children are constantly reminding us to switch them off as we leave classrooms empty.
