Thanks to Alwoodley 2030 our school has an air quality sensor. This measures particulate pollution in the air that is mainly produced by burning fossil fuels eg petrol and diesel in our cars. It also measures particulate pollution due to bonfires and fireworks.

This is the measurements from bonfire night (5th November 2024) at about 10pm.

And this is the measurements from the morning after (6th November 2024) at about 8am as children come to school. At these levels of pollution many people will experience health problems such as wheeziness or even worse.
