Alwoodley regularly sees some of the worst air quality in Leeds – you can see the air quality at ACE on our pollution sensor. We can do our bit to reduce the pollution, and at the same time get fitter and healthier, by using active travel to get to school (walking, cycling, scooting or Park and Stride).
This year, we are holding our Walk to School Week on 19 – 23 May. We would like you to make (and keep) a pledge to walk, cycle, or scoot (or park and stride) at least four out of the five days during the week. Your children will earn a badge if you both make the pledge and report back that you’ve kept the pledge. The school with the highest percentage of families making the pledge by 4th May will win a visit from the WOW mascot, Strider, who visited us last year!
Make the pledge!
There are lots of activities happening during May in connection with Walk to School Week, you can find them on the Alwoodley 2030 website.
