This morning we had our second Eco-School Eco-Committee meeting. We were able to complete our first task of deciding which three of the ten topics we wanted to focus on. We filled in a voting form and the results were:
Litter | 48 |
Marine | 55 |
Energy | 64 |
Water | 65 |
Healthy living | 66 |
School Grounds | 72 |
Global Citizenship | 77 |
Biodiversity | 83 |
Transport | 89 |
Waste | 96 |
We voted using 1 for the most preferred topic and 10 for the least preferred so the lower the total score the more we preferred to look at that topic. This means that our main focus will be on:
- litter
- marine
- energy
We will still be looking at the other topics!
We also had a conversation about what issues concern us which included:
- litter, especially plastic waste and human behaviour and thoughtlessness in dealing with it
- the loss of so many animals but also our cruelty towards other animals
- the destruction of forests and the increase in wildfires.
